About us
Explore, understand, share, protect.
B-FROST is a non-profit association that connects exploration, science, and education to raise awareness of climate and environmental challenges, while promoting an inclusive vision of adventure and knowledge-sharing.
By preparing the expeditions of tomorrow and making field-based knowledge accessible to all through conferences, exhibitions, and educational initiatives, B-FROST encourages understanding, engagement, and collective responsibility.
These actions contribute to the protection of fragile environments and support societies already affected by climate and environmental change.

Our Story
The association grew out of the personal journey of its founder, Clotaire Berthelot, driven by a curiosity for territories, natural environments, and the people who inhabit them. Over the years, his experiences have taken him through a wide range of settings, from the forests of Gabon to the Ethiopian highlands, from alpine ranges to the Arctic regions of Greenland and Svalbard, as well as Lapland, Siberia, the North Sea, and underwater and ice-covered environments.
These explorations, carried out at different scales and within very diverse contexts, gradually gave rise to a desire to share, to transmit, and to give a collective dimension to these experiences. In 2023, he created the B-FROST label as an initial space for expression through photography and storytelling. Two years later, this approach evolved with the creation of the association, conceived as an open space for awareness, dialogue, and inclusion.
The aim is not to celebrate achievement or performance, but to make adventure accessible and meaningful. B-FROST therefore seeks to:
– raise awareness among a wide audience of environmental and climate challenges,
– build bridges between science, culture, education, and exploration,
– encourage projects in which everyone can find their place, regardless of background or ability,
– and collectively prepare future expeditions in the service of knowledge and sharing.
A personal journey thus becomes a shared project, where exploration is understood as a tool for learning, openness, and shared responsibility.
