🌊 The COMPASS app is now live!

A new milestone for COMPASS, B-FROST’s multi-year programme dedicated to the oceans, their exploration, citizen science and public awareness.

Among the various projects developed as part of the programme, the COMPASS app is now available on the App Store!

📱 The app is a citizen science contribution tool. It enables divers and ocean enthusiasts to become contributors by documenting their observations: location, environment, diving conditions, species encountered and counts.

The goal is to progressively build a participatory database to better document and monitor marine biodiversity.

🔐 Designed from the outset to protect personal data, the app incorporates GDPR principles at the core of its operation.

🧭 What’s next?

The app is currently available on iOS only. An Android release is planned, along with multilingual support in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

The app is therefore just one of the tools within the wider COMPASS programme, which will also develop field missions, exploration projects, educational initiatives and scientific collaborations focused on the oceans. 🌊🧭
