Sharing knowledge is part of the adventure

An expedition does not end when you return home. It continues through the stories you tell, the knowledge you share, and the inspiration you pass on to others.

On June 30, 2026, Clotaire Berthelot, President of B-FROST, visited a Year 5 (CM2) class at Prat Foen Primary School in Guidel, Brittany, to share his experience from the North Greenland Windsled Expedition 2026, a scientific and exploratory journey across the Greenland Ice Sheet.

For nearly two hours, the students were taken far beyond the classroom. They discovered what daily life is really like during a polar expedition: preparing for the journey, living in tents, coping with extreme weather conditions, travelling aboard the Windsled, and overcoming the many technical and human challenges encountered in one of the world’s most remote environments.

The presentation also explored the expedition’s scientific objectives. Together, we discussed climate science, environmental observations in the Arctic, the technologies used in the field, and how researchers collect valuable data in some of the planet’s most inaccessible regions.

Inuit culture was another key topic. Learning how Arctic communities have adapted to life in such a demanding environment provided a powerful example of resilience, ingenuity, and respect for nature.

Beyond the expedition itself, the session encouraged students to reflect on a fundamental question: how do humans adapt to their environment? This question resonates strongly with the environmental and societal challenges facing both present and future generations.

As is often the case with young audiences, it was their curiosity that made the experience truly memorable. Their thoughtful questions, enthusiasm, and genuine sense of wonder made this encounter particularly meaningful.

This educational outreach is at the heart of B-FROST’s mission: using exploration as a way to share knowledge, promote science, raise awareness of environmental issues, and inspire curiosity and a spirit of adventure.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the entire teaching team at Prat Foen Primary School, as well as the City of Guidel and Lorient Agglomeration, for their warm welcome and support.

At B-FROST, we firmly believe that exploration only reaches its full meaning when it is shared.
