COMPASS: A New Course for B-FROST!

During summer 2026, B-FROST invited its members to take part in a consultation to help shape the future of the association and the projects that could define the years ahead.

Polar exploration, underwater heritage, citizen science, sailing, inclusion… There were many possible directions!

The feedback helped highlight a clear direction: giving the oceans a greater place in our future adventures.

This is the spirit behind COMPASS, our multi-year programme for 2027, 2028 and beyond.

Explore, understand and share

COMPASS aims to bring together several complementary projects focused on exploration, knowledge and the protection of the marine environment:

  • Heritage: exploring and documenting underwater heritage, including through 3D modelling of shipwrecks.

  • Citizen science: contributing to marine biodiversity observation and knowledge-sharing, including through new digital tools.

  • Maritime expeditions: developing new adventures combining sailing, exploration and environmental awareness.

  • Inclusion and education: sharing our experiences with schools, encouraging discovery and making exploration accessible to as many people as possible.

And because our curiosity knows no boundaries, our polar ambitions remain very much alive, including the prospect of returning to Greenland in 2028.

A programme built for the long term

COMPASS marks a new stage in the development of B-FROST: moving from individual initiatives towards a structured and complementary portfolio of projects designed to grow over several years.

The coming years will be dedicated to building partnerships, securing funding and gradually turning these ambitions into reality.

COMPASS is not a fixed roadmap. It will evolve through new encounters, opportunities and, above all, the involvement of those who want to be part of the adventure.

A big thank you to all our members who took part in the summer consultation and helped shape this new direction!

The oceans will be at the heart of our next adventures, but our curiosity will remain without borders.
